No storms for Murphy Ranch, but lots of wind. Saturday was spent running errands that required the truck. Trips to the feed store and plant house. I had help with the yard (thank goodness) so it is mowed and ready for bug granules. So the first day the winds are calm that will be put down. Next weekend begins the new planting season. So much to be done on a farm. There always seems to be a project waiting. I always appreciated all that John did but I guess I never knew just HOW MUCH he did. I am finding that not only do "I" need him, but the ranch needs him too. So one situation at a time, I am learning my way.

Easter .....A time of renewal
Family and Friends.....are such a blessing.
I traveled to the big city to visit some, talked on the phone to others and thought about many. My mind traveled back to last Easter. A big egg hunt and my honey John by my side. This year was so different. I thought about how John has actually sat beside Jesus. He has been reunited with his own father and even met my father. He has no pain and is where we all plan to be some day. I guess because Easter is about death and then....not death. Will I ever be able to let go of this horrible feeling of loss? Maybe after the first year of all of these "firsts".
Then my heart fills with happiness as I look into the smiling faces of my grandchildren or hear "I love You, Momma" from my children. Easter is about renewal-new beginnings. Hope. So this year, I look toward a new beginning and a renewal of sorts for myself. I am still amazed at how life changes so quickly and so drastically. But God has a plan........

Fun and Family
I printed off directions, packed up the car and headed out. While listening to my audio book and driving north/east....I set out on a weekend adventure. A weekend at Deer Lake in East Texas. It is amazing how different regions of Texas can be. TALL pine trees, sandy fields and even pumping oils rigs lined the road as I got closer to my destination. Almost 4 hours later and I arrived-without getting lost-not even once! It was a WONDERFUL weekend. Games, paddle boats, kayaks, fishing, volleyball and lots of smiles.
