I printed off directions, packed up the car and headed out. While listening to my audio book and driving north/east....I set out on a weekend adventure. A weekend at Deer Lake in East Texas. It is amazing how different regions of Texas can be. TALL pine trees, sandy fields and even pumping oils rigs lined the road as I got closer to my destination. Almost 4 hours later and I arrived-without getting lost-not even once! It was a WONDERFUL weekend. Games, paddle boats, kayaks, fishing, volleyball and lots of smiles.

How fun! What a great ride. Do you listen to the radio on long car trips or stories on CD? We love stories mostly and are always popping one in to help the trip go faster.

Glad you were able to go! Just think, three more states north and you would have been in my area :-)
