To our surprise, momma hen took her babies for their first outing yesterday. It is still a mystery as to how she got them out of the coop but John found them wondering around about 4pm. We were very worried about their safety but were determined to let nature be in control. So when the sun began to fall, as all of the other chickens headed back to the coop, there was momma and her babies in tow. It is so amazing how the chicks follow her so closely and mimic her every move. She would scratch the ground and they would jump in and look for goodies. So cute.
